Provo City Power Launches Energy Conservation Program and Selects Pro Energy Consultants

Pro Energy Consultants is the first energy auditing co. selected to participate in Provo City's new energy-efficiency program. Through this program, Provo residents can receive a professional, diagnostic energy audit for just $30, which can be applied to a utility bill statement and refunded if suggested improvements are made.

PROVO, Utah - Jan. 21, 2011 -Pro Energy Consultants recently received a contract from Provo City Power after being selected — out of several vendors — as the first energy auditing company to participate in the Provo City Power Energy Conservation Program. The program, funded by a $1.2 million government grant, is designed to provide affordable energy audits to Provo City-area participating homeowners.

"It has always been at the back of our mind to do a program like this," said Provo City Power Executive Office Assistant Kat Linford. "The government grant got things started for us."

Provo City Power, a company that provides power to 35,000 homes, began the weatherization program knowing they had to utilize government funds for energy audits. After several bids from energy auditing companies were received, Pro Energy Consultants was selected not only as the first vendor but also as a resource in the development and design of the program.

Following the energy audit, homeowners receive a list of prioritized, recommended improvements to solve any building performance issues. However, Pro Energy will not be making any of the recommended energy efficiency improvements. Instead, customers will receive a preferred vendor list to contact for improvements.
